How to protect the data files?
If you are an individual user, there are three methods for you to protect your data files.
- Method 1:
Click Password Protection on File menu, and then select Password to Open the File. After that, you can set the password to open the file in the dialog box.
- Method 2:
In order to offer you a more efficient and convenient service, you can set passwords for Diary Module, Notes Module or Password Manager Module separately. At first, click Password Protection on File menu. And then select Password to Login to the Diary Module. After that, you can set a password for Diary Module in the dialog box. And it is the same to set a password for Notes Module or Password Manager Module.
(Note: Efficient Reminder, Efficient Address Book, Efficient Notes, Efficient Diary, Efficient Password Manager, and Efficient sticky Notes don't have this function.) - Method 3:
If you want to encrypt your data file in case the file is opened by some text-editing software. Please follow the steps below. Firstly, click Password Protection on File menu, and then select Password to Open the File. After that, set the password to open the file in the dialog box. Secondly, click Options on Tools menu, and then click Action Confirmation in the dialog box. At last, select Prompt me to confirm encryption when closing a file. After that, you can encrypt your data file by choosing "Yes" when the prompt appears. Even though others opened your data file by the text-editing software without permission, they could see nothing except some messy code.
If you are group users, there are three methods for you to protect your data files.
- Method one:
At first, connect to server as the administrator, and then click Users on File menu. So you can add a user and set the password for him or her in the dialog box. If anyone wants to connect to server, he must input both the username and the password correctly.
- Method two:
Click Password Protection on File menu, and then select Password to Open the File. After that, you can set the password to open the file in the dialog box. That is to say, the one who connects to server wants to open the file, he must also input this password correctly. - Method three:
In order to offer you a more efficient and convenient service, you can set passwords for Diary Module, Notes Module or Password Manager Module separately. At first, click Password Protection on File menu. And then select Password to Login to the Diary Module. After that, you can set a password for Diary Module in the dialog box.
